GRANT FUNDING SOURCES

 

Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG)

The City of Shoreacres has been allocated more than $5 million in storm recovery funds related to Hurricane Ike (September 2008). These funds originate from the federal Housing and Urban Development agency (HUD) and flow through the Texas Department of Rural Affairs (TDRA) to the City of Shoreacres.

 

Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) National Emergency Grant (NEG)

The City of Shoreacres has applied for, and been awarded, funds to employee individuals who lost their employement as a result of Hurricane Ike (September 2008). These funds originate from the federal Department of Labor (DOL) and flow through the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC). 

 

Port of Houston Authority (POHA) and Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC)

The City of Shoreacres has recived a grant for funds to construct an entrance sign in coordination with a regional San Jacinto Battleground branding effort. The largest portion of funding has been made available by the Port of Houston Authority with additional fund provided by the Houston-Galveston Area Council.
