Ordinance No. 2005-05 ORDINANCE NO. 2005-05 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION OF PARKING ON PUBLIC STREETS, PUBLIC PROPERTY AND PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SHOREACRES AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHOREACRES, TEXAS: That the Shoreacres City Code is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 62-155, which section reads as follows: Section 62-155. Continuous parking limitation. In all areas of the city where parking is not otherwise prohibited, no person shall park a motor vehicle as defined in Section 501.002 of the Texas Transportation Code on any roadway, street, improved or unimproved shoulder, right-of-way, of the city, or on any property owned by the city for a continuous period of time in excess of forty-eight (48) hours. That the Shoreacres City Code is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 62-156, which section reads as follows: Section 62-156. Parking of specific motor vehicles. (a) Parking prohibited. No person shall park a truck tractor, farm tractor, road tractor, bus, trailer, boat trailer, semi-trailer, pole trailer, house trailer, motor home, towable recreational vehicle, or special mobile equipment as defined in Section 541.201 of the Texas Transportation Code, as amended, on any street of the city. (b) Parking prohibited, private property. No person shall park a truck tractor, farm tractor, road tractor, bus, semi-trailer, or pole trailer as defined in Section 541.201 of the Texas Transportation Code, as amended, on any private property for a continuous period of time in excess of twenty-four (24) hours. (c) Parking prohibited, special mobile equipment, private property. No person shall park special mobile equipment as defined in Section 541.201 of the Texas Transportation Code, as amended, on any private property for a continuous period of time in excess of twenty-four (24) hours in a place where it is visible from the street or public right-of-way. (d) Exceptions. Subsection (a) does not prohibit the parking of an emergency vehicle or vehicles owned, operated or leased by the city, county, state or public utility; or vehicles used in the performance of services under contract of the city, county, state, or public utility. This section shall further not apply to vehicles making a pickup, delivery or rendering some requested service at a location, which abuts the street on which the vehicle is stopped or parked. That the Shoreacres City Code is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 62-157, which section reads as follows: Section 62-157. Parking on private property without consent. It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle or special mobile equipment on any private property without the consent of the owner of the property. PASSED AND APPROVED this 12 day of September 2005.
