Council to Consider SH-146 Intersection Options and
Make Recommendation to Texas Department of Transportation

The Shoreacres City Council will consider making a formal recommendation to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) about the configuration of the intersection of Shoreacres Blvd and SH-146. Traffic noise, safety and the railroad are all areas of special concern.

Citizen input is very important to the process. Your comments should be presented to City Council for consideration at their next meeting, Monday, January 9th.

Volunteers Needed for City Boards

We are looking for a few good citizens. Positions are available on various City boards and commissions. Volunteers assist with planning and community projects.

No prior experience is required. Volunteer application forms are available at City Hall.

Garage Sale Signs

Garage sale signs may be posted the day of a garage sale and must be removed within 24 hours after the garage sale.

A maximum of five signs, posters, or advertisements are allowed, and none are permitted to remain in a public place for a period longer than three days. Each sign must state the date(s) of the sale. Signs may be placed in the city rights-of-way but not on any traffic sign pole, street sign pole, or utility pole. Signs in violation of the City Code are subject to being removed and discarded without notice.

Temporary Signs

Only one, "For Sale", "For Rent" or "For Lease" sign is allowed property for sale, rent, or lease. The sign cannot be larger than six square feet and cannot be placed within 20 feet of the edge of the street, or within ten feet of the adjoining property line.

Only one building contractor, architect, or subcontractor sign may be placed on a building site during construction. The sign cannot be larger than sixteen square feet and cannot be placed within 20 feet of the edge of the street, or within ten feet of the adjoining property line.

No permitted sign may be taller than five feet above ground level.
